Loved the dishes here. Beautiful flavors, great choices for noodle and rice dishes. It would be great if the menu had pictures, but the staff and the chef himself were kind enough to explain the dishes for us.
MoreVery friendly staff and good portioned food. Interior feels kind of drab but it feels homey, like a mom and pop. I tried one of their rice pot, what they claim as their specialty. Comes out very hot so the rice comes out very crunchy and continues to get so if you dont keep mixing it (with the sauce) right away. I think they use a regular rice instead of a sweet rice(?). But it's still good. However not as good as the one in Aberdeen. But overall not bad.
MoreGreat food and service. Pretty clean for an asian restaurant.
Mediocre food, would choose as a last resort place to eat. Only my own opinion though
MoreThe portion of the noodle is bigger than rice
Loved the Rice Pot concept. no excessive waits. good taste. will go again next time I am in Vancouver.
MoreVery delicious! Kids love the food so much! Will definitely go there often!
The Worst Restaurant Experience In Vancouver. I waited it more than 50mins.
Clay pot rice was a disappointment. Very small portion.
Nothing was good about this experience
Got their signature claypot rice and also the fried squid. Average stuff @ average price.
MoreGreat tastes. We'll definitely be coming back to try some other menu items.Be aware that some lunchtime crowds along with large numbers of takeout orders can slow things down, but the food and prices are worth it.
MoreAmazing place 10/10 would recommend!!!!. It is a very minimalistic place, with super friendly staff and a nice atmosphere in general. The food is really good for the price, good quaity and good quantity. The rice pots are very delicious (probably need a bit more seasoning) and they come in a nice hot plate such that it doesn't cool down. Do not expect to be blown out by the food, but you cannot get much better for this price. Left the place with a smile and a full stomach.
MoreBest rice pot in Vancouver! It is make to order therefore a 15 min wait is expected if you order rice pot. You can call ahead of time if you know what to get
MoreOne of our favorite restaurants. I can always count on good food and service.
Average Cantonese rice potential restaurant. Decent, nothing special.
Small, welcoming Chinese restaurant. The taste is very authentic Cantonese flavor, the fried beef river is just right, the powder is very fresh. Lama duck rice, duck is great. There is paid parking on the roadside.
MoreThis is a small, simple restaurant. Good location. Only one of its kind in this area.WAIT. Having said that, the cook is really talented.!!!Authentic Hong Kong style.Rice in a clay pot!!!!!For those who don't know. THIS IS A LOST ART. We are borned with technologies. Cooking what in clay pot? Who uses clay pot for cooking? Let alone cooking rice?!!! This is extremely time consuming to cook and if not under furious control the rice could be under cooked, burnt OR BOTH!!!But when its cooked right...... the aroma of the rice together with the clay; the softness and the surprise at the bottom of the pot..... YES Rice Crispy the chinese style! Yummy. This young cook did it. Very Well.Recommendations:Rice in clay pot. Hk Egg Tart as desert.Hk make your own noodle.HK Milk tea.Service is extremely friendly.... except maybe when the mom is helping....Note: Free parking across the street.Leave yourself plenty of time. Good taste takes time. :)
MoreWould have given it 5 stars after the first visit, but the second visit was a little disappointing. It's a hit and miss after two visits. 1st visit, ordered the curry brisket with daikon. Quite tasty and good amount of brisket. The daikon was juicy and tender. Squid tentacles, nicely deep fried. Claypot rice with chicken, sausage and mushroom... Very good. 2nd visit the volume of brisket decreased by a wide margin. The squid tentacles were over fried and hard. Ordered a chicken nugget bowl of soup noodle ... The soup was bland; the chicken nuggets would be better as too soggy. Raises question re its consistency.
MoreNot worth the price.
Love the atmosphere, service is a bit slow but the food is worth the wait!
Very nice place to have a casual Chinese meal. Food is very tasty and authentic. I'm going back for another meal soon!
MoreFood is simple but delicious! It's a very home-y style type of cooking and there are quite a few options of different meal sets
MoreVery good quality. I had Laksa soup.Wait was about 20 minutes by myself. Not a lot of space. You might share a table with another group
Morewhat is better than claypoy rice on a snowy day
Always above my expectations :-)
worst place ever. staff was extremely rude. will never visit again.
Great food (love the soup that comes with) and the owner is so lovely
Amazing Service and food! I love their ricepot with their own soy sauce! Delicious!
MoreThe featured rice pot is good along with soup, but I won’t recommend the duck one. The duck was too salty and hard to bite. FYI.
MoreHomey food and vibe.
Great food for a great price with some very friendly staff
Great spot; love their clay pot rice.
I would not visit this restaurant again because they over charge their dishes.
My nee favourite place. Awesome!!
Yummy. The owners are really nice and friendly people, too.
Food is good, but if you’re in a hurry, you’d not be pleased because service is very slow as there’s only one staff serving 10 tables and being the cashier also. Their specialty pot comes with a soup, which is nice and if you don’t want burnt rice on the bottom, stir the pot!
MoreFood prices are all reasonable. With almost all the orders from the menu, you can add $2 to get a bubble waffle (original flavour). Hong Kong style milk tea as compared to other places, was on point ($1 for cold). We got the fried chicken knuckles (delicious) and flat rice noodle with beef (satisfying). Generous portions (please see pictures). Added a delicious and freshly made bubble waffle for $2. If you're looking for some HK food or snacks, this is the place! Comfortable and spacious seatings available both outdoors and indoors. HK milk tea and bubble waffle is just the perfect combo.
MoreJust my canteen
Reasonably tasty food and quick service
Servings were a little skimpy about 3 pieces of brisket in the curry brisket lunch, and the quarters were tight. Their specialty is the rice hot pot items. Service was mediocre at best as it was packed for lunch.
Morestopped by on a quiet thursday evening with a craving for stone pot rice, and they really nailed it here. rice is nice and crispy, with just enough soy sauce that it isn't too salty. didn't get a chance to try their bubble waffle, but it seems like a pretty popular order, so i'll likely be trying it out on my next visit! price is very reasonable as well.
MoreExcellent choice for claypot rice and noodle dishes. Great service and good value!Been back a couple of more times and this place gets better each visit. Highly recommend!
MoreOk mom and pop kind of place. Food was ok. Not too expensive, about average. Alot of meal sets so price is a little more worthwhile. Service ok as well.Claypot rice is what we came for and although not satisfied, not entirely let down either. The claypot rice was better at the place on Fraser street. Menu said would require 15-20 min wait time but I think this came quicker. The dry fried soya rice noodles with beef was lacking in the hot work flavour that you can get at more expensive restaurants.Front end seems only serviced by only one woman and she's not the most talented at doing that, but she does try.I may give them another chance in the future if I'm out that way again and craving claypot rice as don't know any other place in the area.
MorePassed by today and tried this place. Taiwanese style. Food was decent, staff was friendly. However I don't think I will go back for the food as I don't live in that area.
MoreNew restaurant in town. Their salt and pepper fried chicken is delicious. Light, crispy and not too oily. We tried their clay pot rice and it is good. Minus one star because the rice was a bit too dry and needed to add some soy sauce. Overall good experience. Hot, fresh food and quick service which good since it is not busy.
MoreVery good rice pot with the chicken, and their hot pot meat are good, especially their satay beef bowl.
MoreStandard Hong Kong style cafe. Wide options of fish, chicken, beef dishes, either with noodle or rice. Service is very quick and the staff is nice. They do Haiwanese chicken and their portions are very generous. Their appetizers include salt and pepper squid, bubble waffle or fried fish sticks. They don't do bubble tea though.
MoreNot bad.
Friendly staff, good food, good price point, fast service.
